Elliot Blaine

Caretaker. Shadow in the walls. Calm hands behind the curtain—noticed only when gone.

Elliot Blaine

Biography

Elliot Blaine is a man who blends into the background so effortlessly that it’s easy to forget how much he’s responsible for. In his early 40s, with neatly kept dark hair and sharp, dark eyes, he carries himself with quiet competence. There’s something steady about him—someone who doesn’t rattle easily. He doesn’t smile often, but when he does, it’s genuine and brief, as if expressing warmth is something he prefers to ration carefully.

He dresses well, but practically—clean button-down shirts, lightweight jackets, comfortable slacks. His clothes are always neat, but never draw attention. Like everything else about him, they serve a purpose.

As the caretaker of Stillwater Lodge, Elliot oversees the retreat with calm precision. He manages the generators, maintains the supplies, checks the weather, and ensures everything runs smoothly. He lives separately in the Caretaker’s Cottage, just out of sight from the main lodge—close enough to respond if needed, distant enough to preserve the quiet the guests are paying for.

To most of them, Elliot is more presence than personality. He’s polite but reserved, helpful but unobtrusive. He’s the man who checks the pantry before anyone notices something’s missing, the one who refuels the generators while everyone sleeps. The kind of man who’s only noticed when he isn’t there.

He’s not mysterious in the way that draws attention. He’s the kind of mysterious that only becomes important when something goes wrong.
